Azeris Fleeing War in Ukraine Safely Returned Home

Azerbaijan – The Intercontinental Firm for Migration (IOM) this 7 days assisted 123 Azeris fleeing the war in the jap Ukrainian city of Kharkiv to return property. 

The group was stranded and functioning out of revenue in the Polish city of Katowice when IOM and authorities authorities teamed up to make transport out there to provide them to Bucharest and on to Baku by air.  

They are between the a lot more than 3 million people who have fled the war in Ukraine, 162,000 of whom are 3rd-nation nationals from much more than 140 other countries, which includes a lot of former Soviet Republics.   

Some of people assisted are married to Ukraine nationals when others ended up functioning or learning in the region prior to the war.  

“When we been given the request to aid with arranging buses we experienced to act swiftly as transportation is in high demand,” explained IOM’s Azerbaijan main of mission Vladimir Gjorgjiev.    

“Thanks are because of to our colleagues in Poland who sourced transport. Now we’re seeking forward to welcoming the returnees household and helping them get whatever guidance is required to get them back again on their feet.”
